Getac Technology Corporation has unveiled the S510AD, a rugged laptop that combines advanced artificial intelligence processing with a focus on sustainability, as the company seeks to expand its presence in the growing market for AI-capable industrial computing.
Built around AMD’s Ryzen AI processors and designed for professionals working in sectors such as automotive, manufacturing, utilities, public safety, and defence, Getac said the laptop is capable of withstanding drops from up to 0.9 metres and operating in temperatures ranging from -29°C to 63°C.
Certified to MIL-STD-810H and IP53 standards, the company also said that more than 45% of the S510AD’s chassis is made from post-consumer recycled plastics, including SORPLAS — a material developed by Sony Semiconductor Solutions that contains up to 99% recycled content.
Getac said the S510AD features AMD’s Ryzen AI 5 340 or 7 350 processors, AMD Radeon 800M graphics, and an AMD XDNA 2 NPU capable of delivering up to 50 trillion operations per second of on-device AI performance. The company says the system supports faster insights and more efficient offline processing, reducing reliance on Cloud connectivity in the field.
The laptop, which meets Microsoft’s Copilot+ PC standards, can be configured with up to 64GB of DDR5 memory and 2TB of PCIe NVMe SSD storage. It also includes Windows Hello facial recognition as standard for secure access.
Amanda Ward, EMEA Senior Director of Technology & Services at Getac, described the launch as “another important step in expanding our AI-Rugged portfolio”. She added: “Built on AMD’s latest AI processing technology, it addresses customer demand for platform diversity while maintaining the rugged reliability and sustainability they expect from Getac.”
The 15.6-inch full HD display, with a brightness of 1,000 nits, is designed for use in challenging outdoor conditions. Optional features include a multitouch screen, dual hot-swappable batteries, and connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, 4G-LTE, 5G Sub-6, Dual SIM, and GPS.
