BTU International Features Next Generation Thermal Processing Equipment at PV Taiwan Exhibition

BTU International (Nasdaq: BTUI), a leading supplier of advanced thermal processing equipment and processes for the alternative energy and electronics manufacturing markets, will highlight its next generation thermal processing capabilities at the upcoming PV Taiwan International Photovoltaic Forum & Exhibition. The exhibition is scheduled to take place October 26-28, 2010 at the Taipei World Trade Center. BTU will be at booth 455.

“Taiwanese PV manufacturers appear to be ramping their production aggressively, while paying careful attention to cell efficiencies and cost per watt. Our equipment is uniquely positioned for this challenge and our infrastructure in the region allows us to respond quickly,” said Jan-Paul van Maaren, Ph.D., vice president marketing at BTU.

BTU will feature its in-line process systems that can dramatically lower cost without sacrificing cell efficiencies:

For silicon photovoltaics applications, BTU will highlight two systems: First is the Tritan™ drying and firing furnace. This furnace includes TriSpeed™ technology that enables aggressive temperature spikes without compromising the drying, burnout and cooling process steps.

Second is the Meridian™ in-line diffusion system. This system is the industry’s most successful in-line diffusion system with well over 1 GW in customer commitments.

For thin film photovoltaics, BTU leverages its technologies and decades of experience to provide scalable, custom, in-line thermal process systems for rigid as well as flexible substrates.
