The combination of Forum and AMC will expand FET’s drilling related product offering, and will provide AMC with strong backing for continued growth. AMC’s turnover has increased by tenfold over the last five years and currently employs 88 people at its three sites in Aberdeen and Caithness, Scotland; and Houston, Texas. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Andrew Polson, Managing Director of AMC, commented on the deal, “This is a truly exciting time for AMC Group. Forum was a natural choice to facilitate our next stage of growth and will add a significant opportunity for everyone involved with AMC. We have already set up an operational base in Houston and with the support of Forum, we are looking at replicating this in the Middle East, Singapore and Perth, Australia.
Cris Gaut, Chairman and CEO of Forum noted, “The culture at Forum is very similar to that of AMC as both companies are customer focused and provide customized solutions. AMC brings industry leading torque technology to Forum, which is complementary to our existing tubular handling equipment offering. AMC will remain under the competent stewardship of Andrew Polson. There will be little change in AMC’s operations on a day-to-day basis, but we will help AMC continue to grow.”
