Wang was born and raised in Shanghai, China, but moved to the United States at the age of 17 to study a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Southern California (USC).
Now based in San Jose, Christina has laid the foundation of an impressive career with Cypress Semiconductors. Never wanting to stray too far from her roots in Electrical Engineering, Christina is now responsible for driving the company’s digital strategy, targeting a large portfolio of global suppliers and distributors with engaging sales and marketing campaigns.
Wang explained she had always enjoyed physics and reading: “I read Stephen Hawkins’ A brief history of time when I was younger which was very inspiring. It talks about electrical engineering and the electromagnetic field which sparked my interested in physics, science and engineering.”
In the interview Wang also talks about how her mother has always inspired her. “She has always encouraged me to follow my passions and supported me in doing so. Traditionally, my family has worked in business, so if it hadn’t been for engineering, my career path would have headed to finance or business. It was my mum’s support that enabled me to follow my interests and do what I wanted.”
