The rotor also has low inertia, which allows fast dynamic response in applications that involve frequent starting and stopping.
The portfolio includes 12 brushed DC micromotors, selected from Faulhaber’s CXR series with graphite brushes for high power capability and long lifetime, the SR series with built-in high-resolution encoder and precious-metal commutation giving low contact resistance, and the SR-Flat series for highly space-constrained applications.
The selection includes 6V, 12V and 24V motors, torque from 0.35mNm to 40mNm, and shaft diameters of 1.5mm, 2mm, 3mm or 4mm.
In addition, RS has selected five brushless motors that are ideal for heavy-duty servo applications with frequent overload conditions as well as for continuous duty applications, thanks to their slot-less design and high-inertia rotor.
These include four 4-pole motors, which provide the benefit of high torque and robust construction capable of withstanding high shock and vibration, and an ultra-flat 12V 7000rpm motor with built-in speed controller.
A further seven brushed motors with integrated spur-type or planetary gear head further extend the options available, offering increased torque and output speeds of a few hundred rpm or as low as 4rpm.
The SC1801-3530 speed controller for brushless motors, and its associated programming board, complete the Faulhaber range currently available at RS. The compact controller, with convenient screw-type terminal strips for motor and power supply, has flexible interfacing options that allow use in applications such as distributed automation systems, handling and tooling devices, or pumps.
