Carter’s non-spray Adiabatic means no more Legionella risk for leading plastic component firm

According to Carter Environmental Engineers, a fast-track installation has completely eliminated the risk of Legionnaire’s Disease at Accuma Plastics, a major supplier of plastic components for electric battery industries.

Despite a higher capital investment than traditional cooling methods, Carter’s non-spray Adiabatic Water Cooler can also reduce charges from using less water, less energy and fewer chemicals.

Accuma’s Malcolm Prati commented: “Our old water cooler served us well for over 10 years but had reached the end of its natural life. Carter carried out a fast and very efficient installation. The Adiabatic offers more in the way of long term benefits than other cooling units we considered”.

Colin Brown from Carter Environmental Engineers added: “As well as eliminating the risk of Legionella, our Adiabatic is an intelligent water cooling unit that only uses water when ambient temperatures rise to a point where the adiabatic mode is required”.

Carter’s turnkey installation, which was successfully fitted in without disruption to Accuma’s production, involved essential ground levelling and the design of a new pipework manifold to accommodate existing pumps.
