DX6 CrossOver Vise comes standard with a Groove Lock jaw plate and Groove Lock workstop for accurate part locating within the clamping area. The workstop uses a single bolt design for adjusting and slides across the full length of the jaw to accommodate for a variety of parts sizes and does not interfere with the part or spindle.
To eliminate chip build-up the DX6 CrossOver Vise has convenient evacuation slots located in the sides and ends the vise body. Easy chip evacuation is critical especially in heavy production and hogging operations which tend to create mass amount of chips and causes inaccurate workpiece positioning and clamping.
For vise setup, Kurt has incorporated a recessed pocket located in the movable jaw for easier lifting and positioning. Now a machinist can easily grab a hold of the 65lbs vise from both ends for lifting and position onto the machine table.
The DX6 CrossOver vise achieves highest levels in workholding strength and performance where flatness and parallelism are critical to precision machined components. By combining design features from the Kurt AngLock and Kurt Pull-Type designs, and designing a new four bolt stationary jaw, the DX6 reduces jaw deflection, reduces stress in the body to maintain flatness after assembly, and creates all-directional clamping alignment.
Additional DX6 CrossOver vise features include: 80,000psi ductile iron body, nut and movable jaw, a semi-hard steel screw and a hardened vise bed and jaw plates. With enlarged holding capacity, the DX6 CrossOver vise features a full nine inch jaw opening within the inside jaw position. A lighter and narrower vise body with a footprint of 7.391” wide x 16.810” long allows more vises on the machine table. DX6 is interchangeable with Kurt’s popular D688 vise.
