JVL launches next-generation MAC404 servomotor with UK support from Mclennan

Danish motion control specialist JVL has unveiled the MAC404, a new addition to its next-generation MAC series of integrated servomotors, combining redesigned hardware and upgraded software to improve performance, efficiency, and adaptability while cutting production costs.

Distributed in the UK with full application support from Mclennan, the MAC404 delivers 400 W continuous and 1200 W peak power in a compact 63×63 mm frame. It features an absolute multi-turn encoder designed for a 100% duty cycle and continuous 24/7 operation.

The model includes a built-in industrial Ethernet interface supporting six protocols for seamless integration with leading PLC systems. Additional configuration options include a built-in brake, IP67 protection, safe torque off (STO) connector with SoE, wireless communication, CANopen, and IO-Link. Power can be supplied from 115 or 230 VAC, or optionally 48 VDC.

Danish motion control specialist JVL has unveiled the MAC404, a new addition to its next-generation MAC series of integrated servomotors, combining redesigned hardware and upgraded software to improve performance, efficiency, and adaptability while cutting production costs.

Rated at 1.27 Nm torque with a peak of 3.83 Nm, and speeds up to 3000 rpm (3600 max), the MAC404’s distributed design eliminates the need for bulky control cabinets. Available in IP42 and IP66 housings, with or without brakes, the units measure 170 mm and 203 mm in length. Standard M12 connectors for power and communication simplify installation, reducing commissioning time and cost.

The new hardware and optimised software have enabled JVL to manufacture the MAC404 at lower cost, with the company passing on savings to customers.

Alongside the MAC404, JVL’s expanded MAC series now includes models offering 750, 1000, and 1500 W power ratings. Each features a faster processor for precise, rapid control suited to high-throughput industrial automation. The servomotors can be configured directly from PLCs using Siemens or Rockwell Automation function blocks, or via JVL’s proprietary MacTalk software.

Mclennan provides full UK support for JVL products, including motor sizing, system integration, and custom automation solutions. Its offering spans JVL’s complete range of motion control products, as well as stepper and servo systems from other leading manufacturers.
