HARTING has unveiled an upgraded version of its Han S connector series, designed to support the growing demand for high-power energy storage systems (ESS).
The Han S 450 Plus now delivers up to 500 A, up from the previous 200 A limit, while retaining a compact form and low heat generation.
The company said the new design features larger contacts and housings, allowing storage modules to be combined into larger units without overheating. Angled housings on the cable side, and a freely rotating 360-degree input side, enhance flexibility and ease of installation.
The connectors are available in three conductor sizes: 95 mm2 for up to 350 A, 120 mm2 for 400 A, and 150 mm2 for 450 A. HARTING highlighted the robustness of the interface, with the Han S capable of enduring up to 500 mating cycles – a figure it claims is unmatched by comparable products.
Additional features include intuitive locking mechanisms, colour-coded housings for easy identification, and multiple coding options, including five mating profiles. Available colours include red, black, blue, and orange.
HARTING, which employs around 6,000 staff across 42 sales companies and seven R&D sites, said the Han S 450 Plus underlines its strategy to support higher charging and discharging currents in modular battery storage solutions.
