IMI appoints Mario Wrase to lead industrial automation across EMEA

IMI has named Mario Wrase as its new President, Industrial Automation, EMEA, as the engineering group seeks to accelerate growth across the region.

Wrase joins after almost 30 years in the sector, with previous roles at General Motors and Siemens. He most recently served as Managing Director of Schneider Electric Automation GmbH.

IMI said Wrase brings extensive experience in industrial automation, alongside a record of expanding businesses and developing new technology-driven strategies. He is expected to focus on strengthening the division’s commercial performance and supporting customers across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

“I am delighted to be joining IMI with the ambition to lead the company’s Industrial Automation proposition across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa,” Wrase said. He added that he aims to build on IMI’s technical expertise and product portfolio to meet customers’ evolving needs in the region.

Jackie Hu, IMI’s Chief Operating Officer, said Wrase’s leadership would support the group’s push for stronger growth and innovation. “His extensive experience and proven leadership in industrial automation will be instrumental in driving our growth and innovation across the EMEA region,” she said, adding that his focus on customer-centric solutions aligns with IMI’s strategic aims.
