Eplan has added CADENAS as the newest technology partner in its Eplan Partner Network, signing the agreement live at the SPS trade fair in Nuremberg last month.
The deal was concluded by Eplan Managing Director Haluk Menderes and CADENAS Managing Director Terry Jonen, and marks a move to integrate CADENAS’s 3Dfindit platform directly with the Eplan Data Portal.
The partnership aims to expand the availability, quality, and complexity of technical device data accessible to Eplan users. A new interface between the Eplan Cloud-based Data Portal and 3Dfindit will allow engineers to search, configure, and import detailed product information more easily.
Menderes described CADENAS as “a strong partner” whose device database would “considerably extend the range of device data available on the Eplan Data Portal with validated, and in some cases, highly complex configuration data, particularly for the energy sector”.
Jonen said the integration would provide engineers with “precise, up-to-date product data”, increasing value for customers shared by both companies.
Comprehensive digital device data has become essential for design engineers seeking to streamline planning cycles and strengthen consistency throughout the engineering process. The companies will now develop the technical interface jointly, while maintaining close engagement with component manufacturers to ensure broad coverage.
Once implemented, the integration is expected to give Eplan users a wider selection of device data for complex designs, greater flexibility in choosing components, and improved data continuity throughout engineering workflows.
Both companies will establish technical working groups in the coming months to define project milestones and expand the partnership gradually. A key focus will be validating customer benefits across various sectors, including energy, where demand for rich device data is particularly high.
Eplan, founded in 1984 and part of the Friedhelm Loh Group, provides software and services for electrical, automation, and mechatronic engineering, supporting more than 68,000 customers worldwide.
