GMEX Robotics’ investee MediaMeta has begun developing an AI-powered canine washing and grooming station with US clients, in an early test of its technology for automated services.
The Singapore-based company, which operates as Alpha Meta AI, is working on a system designed to adapt grooming processes to individual dogs’ characteristics and requirements. The project aims to combine AI-driven decision-making, adaptive control and automated grooming.
MediaMeta has also filed a US patent application covering technology under development. The application is pending, and the company has not disclosed a timetable for testing, deployment or commercial launch.
The announcement follows GMEX’s acquisition of an initial 30% fully diluted equity stake in MediaMeta earlier this month. GMEX, which develops AI-powered robotics and automation systems, said the project could provide a route to applying adaptive AI beyond digital applications and into physical services.
“[T]he launch of this US client co-development project and the submission of a US patent application demonstrate its commitment to developing practical AI-powered automation solutions,” said Sam Lu, Chief Executive of GMEX Robotics.
The company suggested that the technology could eventually be used in other autonomous service environments, although it did not identify specific applications beyond pet care.
MediaMeta’s existing business focuses on digital content, AI applications and generative engine optimisation. Its move into robotics represents a new application area for its work on AI systems designed to interpret human behaviour and social context.
The grooming station remains in development. Any commercial launch will depend on successful testing, client acceptance and other commercial considerations, according to GMEX.
The announcement did not include performance data, details of the system’s hardware or information about how it would handle differences in dog size, behaviour and coat type.
