UK Connect Defence has secured Made in Britain recognition as it expands its UK engineering and manufacturing capabilities for military communications, sensing and Edge technologies.
The Farnborough-based company develops rapidly deployable systems designed around military users’ operational requirements, using rapid prototyping, systems integration and field trials to refine technologies before deployment.
Its work includes unattended ground sensors, low-power wide-area networking (LPWAN) and integration with tactical command-and-control systems such as TAK.
UK Connect Defence said its in-house manufacturing capability allows it to develop, produce and support equipment in the UK while incorporating feedback from military personnel.
“Defence needs innovation, but it also needs speed, resilience and technology shaped around what military users actually need,” said PJ Farr, Founder of UK Connect Defence. “We want to work alongside users, understand their challenges and turn the right technologies into practical, deployable solutions.”
The company plans to continue investing in UK engineering and manufacturing, including rapid prototyping and unattended ground sensors.
Made in Britain recognition marks the company’s commitment to domestic engineering and manufacturing, although the announcement does not specify the proportion of its products or components manufactured in the UK.
