SIGMATEK is expanding its S-DIAS automation platform with two new CPU modules designed to provide higher processing performance and hardware-based security for machine control applications.
The CP 401 and CP 511 are built around the company’s latest EDGE3 Technology processors and have been developed with a “security by design” approach, according to SIGMATEK.
The company says the new CPUs address growing performance and cybersecurity requirements in industrial automation, with processor technology designed to meet the requirements of the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).
The CP 401 is the smaller of the two modules and is aimed at applications with more modest processing requirements. It uses a dual-core 800MHz processor and has 512MB of LPDDR4 memory. Its interfaces include Ethernet, CAN and USB 2.0 Type-C.
The CP 511 is intended for more demanding applications, with a dual-core 1.2GHz processor and 1GB of LPDDR4 memory. It has two Ethernet interfaces alongside dedicated VARAN, EtherCAT and CAN connections, allowing it to be used across different industrial networking configurations.
The CP 511 also includes two USB 2.0 Type-C ports and an integrated real-time clock.
The modules retain the S-DIAS platform format, with the CP 401 measuring 12.5 millimetres wide and the CP 511 25 millimetres wide. Both are 104 millimetres high and 72millimetres deep.
